2026 Enrolments are now accepted online, or pop into our school office if you would prefer a paper copy.
Monday 25th August 2025 – all enrolment applications welcome.
Friday 17th October 2025 – 3.30 pm – enrolments for out-of-zone places close. To be considered for an out-of-zone placement, your enrolment form needs to be completed and with the office by this time.
Friday 24th October 2025 – Out-of-zone placements offered. You will be contacted about your application for an out-of-zone place no later than Monday 3rd November 2025.

Please read the following information BEFORE you begin the Online Enrolment Process.
When filling in the online enrolment, please DO NOT use capital letters. We prefer this format: “John Smith – 35 ABC Road, Awapuni, Gisborne 4010”

Please read and complete the following documents prior to attaching them to your enrolment.
- EOTC Permission Information
- Water Safety and Competence
- Internet Permission Information (E-Learning Agreement / Online publication of student images and work)
- Parent Information Form (for class placement)
Please read and complete the following documents ONLY if applicable prior to attaching them to your enrolment.
- Medical and Other Information Form (medical, dietary and learning support)
- Ngā Manu a Rēhua – additional application information (acceptance will be confirmed after pre entry interview).
Have scanned copies of the following documents ready to upload:
- New Zealand Birth Certificate OR the Front Page of Student’s Passport
- Latest School Report (only required if you are enroling student after Februrary 2026).
- Permanent Resident Permit OR Student Visa (only required if student is a citizen of another country).
In addition, you will be asked to upload proof of address – these must be dated within the last 2 months:
- Gisborne City Council Rates Assessment OR Sale and Purchase Agreement OR Rental Agreement
- Latest Utility Bill – Electricity/Gas OR Internet/Broadband
- Work and Income letters
When completing the Online Enrolment Form:
Caregiver Details section, please provide a minimum of 3 contacts for the student.
- Caregiver # 1 – this person must be the legal guardian, the first point of contact and must live with the student.
- Caregiver # 2 – this person can be either the second legal guardian or the first emergency contact person.
- Caregiver # 3 – this person is the first or second emergency contact person. Please ONLY tick the “Emergency Contact” option.
Note: An emergency contact is someone who will have the knowledge of how we can reach the legal guardians for the student in the case of an emergency. They can be extended family members or family friends.
Enrolment Details section, the Enrolment Priority is “Normal” if your child does not have any affiliations with Gisborne Intermediate School i.e. Siblings (Current/Former) or Parents who attended our school.
